Hello, this would be most helpful when using as a demonstration to others on a  WebEx, or other video conferencing platform for remote team training. Thanks!

Awesome news ! Will the web forms work offline ? Any limitations compared to using the iOS / Android app ?

Sounds ace, it means we can give clients a login or atleast make it anonymous ? maybe. for new user requests.

Joey great idea that will definitely be convenient.

Mark currently we were thinking that the Web Forms would only work in a connected environment. Can you share your use case for offline web forms and how you would envision that working? Also yes there will most likely be limitations such as the camera, barcode scanning, and our hardware element. If you can share your use cases for some of these limitations we will certainly consider them.

Karl can you elaborate more on making it anonymous for new user requests here and the use case behind it?

I have a dozen or so uses for Web Forms. We have been looking for a way to do administrative functions with collected data that would not require a mobile device.  If someone at a desktop can load a form and submit data it will improve our workflow and give us a lot more flexibility. Most of our uses would be updating data that has been collected in the field.

WebForms would be an amazing addition. We have many users on mobile devices, who at the end of the day, enter tasks for their work. Typing on mobiles and tablets can get tiresome when there is a lot of text. Many have asked for desktop versions of the app. To be able to use webforms on a PC would help here.

Van, is the data being collected in the field or entered at the end of each day in an office via a mobile device because that's the only medium available?

    Hello,

We are using the mobile application for safety inspections in an manufacturing environment. There are limited mobile devices on the production floor, however there are many desktops. We would like our employees to use the same forms as our mobile users. We would expect that the Web-based forms would be identical to the mobile forms and use them in a similar way. It would also be useful for a user to access the web based forms without having to enter login information. Simply click a link and access the form...

    Thanks,

    Jeff

    HI Jeff,

Thanks for your response, i like the use case that you have drawn here between production floor workers and desk workers, but one thing that actually stumps me is the necessity to not enter login information. That opens up a lot of security and scalability issues if not designed properly. So want to hear more from you about that.

I see your point about security. Our desktops require users to have approved credentials before they can assess the company network. I would like to avoid requiring additional access restrictions for adding data onto the form. And also reduce the burden of administrating access to the form. For my application, data integrity is not critical and in some cases may be anonymous. But regardless of security, we would like to use the form on a desktop platform, preferably in a browser.

"In 2018, we are planning to develop web-based forms"  What is the time line for the development and role out?  Will it be available for use Jan. 1, 2018 or are we expecting the role out to be later in the year?

Will there be an associated fee for this additional functionality?  If so, what is that projected cost?

Hi Vincent, the expected role out won't be on January 1st but rather later in the year. Regarding the pricing, we have not finalized this piece yet but if you could let me know the company you're with, your Account Manager will make sure to reach out with more information when we have them!

Does Zerion have more information about whether the forms will be part of a  progressive web app or traditional HTML 5 webb application? Thanks!

This would be great for our office staff who perform QC on submitted forms. We have a method in place for submitting 'Draft' forms from the field which are automatically reassigned for QC. This would reduce our need for office staff to have iPads for reviewing and submitting the 'Final' form.

From a future planning perspective, are you pursuing progressive Web Apps? These would allow sophisticated and consistent forms capabilities on any platform. Or now that windows is embracing ARM, do you have plans to support Windows? IPads are a pain to manage at scale in an enterprise.

Hey James, what challenges are you facing managing iPads at scale? We have a few groups that have several thousand iPads in the field, so perhaps we can share some insight. We are not focused on developing for Windows directly and are looking to extend our capabilities to the modern browsers. Feel free to post your scaling issues here, or shoot me an email directly at (truth@zerionsoftware.com).

The option for a user to submit forms from their PC would be great. Many of our users submit work orders via iForm. The ability to do offline/mobile is invaluable, but some have requested a PC option to alleviate the Small Screen Blues.

Hi, We have approximately 75 Windows (8.1 possibly upgrading to 10) Mobile devices out in the field used bu engineers and techs. As they are using Windows Mobile there is no iForm app so this is where web forms would be great. Offline capability would be brilliant as they spend a lot of time inside hospitals where there is zero or very poor connectivity. I am thinking about forms such as signature capture for assigned jobs, or barcode scanning a product and updating the products geolocation. If the webforms could work offline and with Zerion workflows too that would be brilliant, but a lot to ask I know !

Hi Will thanks for the feedback. Looking forward to getting this in your hands once its ready for intial testing.

Mark we are not currently looking at adding offline functionality to this inially but may be in the plans in the future. These are in fact "Web Based Forms" so they do require internet connection to load the forms and submit them.

With regards to your offline use is this something where you would want to capture many records offline and save them locally until you have an internet connection then upload them.

I can think of 2 use cases:

    1. User creates form on iPad and has a lot of typing to do (or maybe the typing portion is done by a supervisor) - would be nice to be able to compete it on desktop.
    2. Basically use it as a dispatch portal - start the form on desktop and send it out to someone to complete.

Both of these scenarios are going to make form validation tricky... a different set of conditions if you are starting vs. completing the form.

Regarding iPads at scale... would love to hear if anyone else is using a single device across multiple people.  We use them in a manufacturing environment where they get passed off from one person to the next or one shift to the next.  So, we can't have a single user's Apple ID on the device.  Heck, _finding_ all the devices at any given time can sometimes be a challenge!

    Hi Joe,

Great idea - we have office staff who don't have a mobile device and we would welcome allowing them to use the same forms from their PCs.

Look forward to the roll out,

    Steven

    Hi Joe,

This is a great idea.  Some of our users, maybe 20-25%, would like to submit our existing forms from a Windows PC instead of on a mobile device.  Thus it would be great if our forms (which have subforms) would work in the same way on Windows as they already do on iOS and Android.  This is a major user satisfaction issue for a subset of our user community.

Can we test it? Do dynamic values work the same as like in the iPad? Is the UI for creating them different ?

Hi Karl. No testing is available yet. But please stay tuned as we will be in contact when it is ready for testing.

In terms of the dynamic values and where you create these forms they will still be created in the FormBuilder just rendered on the Web vs your Android or iOS Device.

In the coming months, we will be sharing details about what all features will be available through the Web Forms.

    Thanks!

Very excited about the functionality! My company's use case would be for a workflow that requires supervisors to respond to tickets created in the field . Supers , who are in the office, are assigned the record in iForm but prefer the familiar physical keyboard and mouse instead of reading glasses and a stylus for their phone.

In another use case: There was a recent instance where iForm was overlooked as a solution because quality control inspectors need to be able to use a mobile device and/or a PC for data entry.  We try to pressure inspectors to capture most the work at the site on the mobile device but some inspectors enter repetitive data and can work faster on a PC and we need to be accommodating to their ergonomics requests.  So it would be good if a person can edit a record on a mobile device and Web by keeping the record assigned to them until they are finished.

May i ask a question in regards to this?

Would this be an extra purchase for current customers similar to i guess ZerionDocs? or would it be part of the Form Builder?

My self i am quite existed for it, it opens up alot of doors in regards to data collection, integrations and access.

I have plans for this already if it does what i think its going to do.
