Subforms can be used to condense your form and break up larger form sections into smaller forms.
To add a Subform element to your Parent form, please follow the instructions below.
PLEASE NOTE: In this example, we've already created a Parent form and named it Parent Form Test (parent_form_test).
STEP 1: Hover over the Forms tab (A) and select Form Builder (B).
STEP 2: Click on Create New Form.
STEP 3: Name your Subform (A) and click Save Changes (B).
iFORM TIP: When building Subforms we suggest using a naming convention for the Table name to show the relationship. This also keeps the forms together in Form Builder. In this example, we've named the Subform Parent Form Test Child (parent_form_test_child).
STEP 4: Add elements to your form (A) and click Save (B).
STEP 5: On your Parent form, add a Subform element.
STEP 6: Click on the Smart Paging tab (A) and select the subform you created (B).
STEP 7: Choose your Link Mode.
SINGLE: This will allow the user to only submit one subform record per Parent form record.
MULTIPLE: This will allow the user to submit unlimited subform records per Parent form.
STEP 8: Choose whether you want the subforms to show in Separate Table View. The Separate Table View will allow for the subform records to show in their own record view.
STEP 9: Click Save.
iFORM TIP: To remove the the Subform from the main form menu on the device, go to the Form Assignment tab, and remove Collect rights. You'll still be able to access the Subform through the Parent form.
iForm Tip: Download the Form Package at the bottom for a sample form of this functionality.
