HOW DO I USE THE MANATEE WIDGET?
STEP #1: Within your form, create the Manatee Works element.
STEP #2: Under Symbologies, choose the different types of barcodes you would like to scan.
STEP #3: Choose the Scanner Effort Level.
Scanner Effort Level - An effort level ranges 1 to 5. The greater the level, the higher the frequency of slices, which allows for hard to detect code to be scanned with greater accuracy.
PLEASE NOTE: The higher a Scanner Effort Level, the longer it will take to scan the entire image.
STEP #4: Set up the dynamic value of the Manatee Works widget and the element you wish to pass the data into.
To ensure the form will start fresh every time a new record is started, place the following into the Dynamic Value of the scanning element: manatee_widget_data_name = ""
PLEASE NOTE: manatee_widget_data_name is just an example of a data column name. You'll want to use whatever data column name you have chosen for your particular Manatee element.
STEP #5: Create a new Text Area element under the Manatee Widget. Add the following in the Dynamic Value to the Text Area: manatee_widget_data_name.raw, to push all data that is scanned into the element,
This will ensure that all the information embedded in the code will be copied into that field. If you are working with more robust codes, such as a driver's license, please take a look at the following links below.
PLEASE NOTE: If you scan a barcode and see asterisks (*) being populated in the text field, this is either due to the scan being too quick and not capturing the full barcode or if you are using a white label app, you may need a manatee license. If it is the latter, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager or the Customer Support team.
