iFormBuilder Option Lists are just what they sound like, a predefined list of options which your users can choose from when using one of the following widgets:
Option Lists are universal. Therefore, if you have more than one form using the same Option List, editing the Option List on one form will affect the same Option List on its other forms.
To utilize option lists add one of the above elements to your form and select the Option List tab from the Element Properties and select Option List Manager as shown below:
Follow the steps below to create an option list:
1. Begin by pressing the "+" button. This will create a new option list with a default name of "# My Option List".
2. Enter the new name for your option list on the right side of the manager where you see the matching text.
3. Each one of your options needs to be separated by a hard return (pressing the "enter" or "return" key). You can also copy data from excel and paste it into a text editor to remove the formatting and then paste into the Option List Manager.
4. Click the Save List to add your new list to the Option lists window.
Now that you have created the custom list, you still need to assign it to your element.
Highlight the list that you want to apply to the element and click the Assign list to element button. You can also delete any lists that you like by highlighting the list from the menu and clicking the "-" button.
If you wish to edit the option list content simply click on the title of that list and that list will open for editing. The options can be rearranged as well using drag and drop. Be sure to hit Save list in order for any changes you've made to take affect.
The Advanced tab permits the user to embed conditional logic into the list (Smart Option Lists), and change the "key_value" of the options within the list. Options can also be resorted by dragging and dropping them to a new location.
PLEASE NOTE: Key Values should not contain any special characters (" ' , * etc) or spaces. We recommend replacing these characters and spaces with underscores.
