Build Your Own Document
The Build Your Own Zerion Document feature is for users who don't already have a documented created or for those users that will have conditional sections or process incoming data in a certain way.
PLEASE NOTE: If you need to embed images into your document, this is the option you'll need to use.
The Zerion Documents builder is an HTML editor that allows for a great deal of customization and styling through HTML/CSS coding.

Fillable PDFs should be used when you have a document that needs to follow a specific structure such as IRS documents, medical forms, etc. Unlike the Build Your Own documents, you cannot change the structure of the document once it has been uploaded to Zerion Reports.
PLEASE NOTE: You will need to create the Fillable PDF using software such as NitroPDF or similar software.

Word documents are for those of you that want to edit a document after a merge has taken place. Much like the Fillable PDF, you will upload a Word DOCX file (with the Merge Fields already defined in it), and then any changes will need to be re-uploaded. One benefit of a DOCX file is that you can open and modify the file after a merge.
